Using the recollections of Brown’s own grandmother as a basis, William Morrow released the New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller Nineteen Steps in September 2023. Written by Brown and Kathleen McGurl, the narrative centres on eighteen-year-old Nellie Morris, who lives in the Bethnal Green neighbourhood of East London. Nellie, who is pursuing a new romance with American airman Ray, must manage the difficulties of wartime living throughout the book, which include the possibility of bombs, rationing, and the mental anguish of being away from loved ones. The production studio behind popular international blockbusters including It, The LEGO Movie, and the recently released Haunted Mansion feature, Rideback, is currently producing Disney’s next Lilo & Stitch movie, which just unveiled a trailer at D23 and is scheduled to open in theatres this summer. Notably, well-known producer Dan Lin founded the business in 2007 and departed in February to assume the head film role at Netflix.
